Stadia

It’s game over for Stadia, Google’s cloud gaming platform, and so would be my prospects with Google if I shared my work under NDA. Most of my work was B2B and under NDA. Here is an example of a B2C project I worked on..

Privacy Settings

Overview: Stadia privacy settings were comprehensive, but 13% of users stopped onboarding during the privacy screen

User goal: To quickly set up privacy settings and have the option for advanced settings

Business goal: Reduce drop-off during the onboarding process by making the privacy settings more user-friendly

Challenges: Creating consistent, simple names and descriptions for preset sections. Ensuring the names and descriptions would be approved by the legal department.

Approach: I worked with a UX designer who had ideas to simplify and shorten the design. Once the tile approach was settled on, we worked on subsequent pages that would allow the user to customize their settings. I crafted the tile wording and the detailed pages that followed. We presented the explorations at critiques and iterated, ensuring that they got the legal department’s approval.

Results: The privacy settings were approved. However, the announcement that Stadia was being shut down meant this feature was never released.
